3 cranes from Comansa Jie build a Natural Gas Power Plant in China

Next August, and after a year of intense work, three Comansa Jie cranes will finish the extension of the Fujian power plant, owned by public company "China National Offshore Oil Corporation" (CNOOC), the third biggest oil company in the country. Located in the city of Putian, on the southeast province of Fujian in China, the plant operates since 2007 transforming liquefied natural gas into electric power.

The three cranes, manufactured at the Hangzhou factory, are building 2 new tanks, with capacity for more than 300 million liters of liquefied natural gas each. There are two cranes from the model 21 CJ 290, and other 21 CJ 210, and all of them can load up to 18 tonnes. The final height of the tanks will be 52 meters, so the two 290 are working at a height under hook of 57.6 and 63.1 meters, while the 210 has been erected at a height of 69.6 meters.

The Fujian plant will be able to produce 6,112 gigawatts per hour after the extension, and will help to supply electric power to the region, which has a population of more than 36 million inhabitants. Many plants, like Fujian, work with liquefied natural gas instead of proper gas because it is cheaper to transport in large ships instead of building a pipeline. The use of natural gas has less environmental impact than any other fossil fuel, which has rapidly increased its production and consumption all over the world.
