Last week the container crane division at Alimak Hek AB secured an order of twelve lifts. The lifts are for container cranes to be supplied to the Port of Haifa in Israel. With an earlier order of six units, this makes it a total of 18 lifts to be installed at the port. The lifts are ALIMAK SE-300 FC and will be delivered at the end of 2009 thru the beginning of 2010. Six lifts will be installed on STS cranes with a lifting height of 44.5 meters (146 feet) with five landings. Twelve lifts will be installed on RMG cranes with a lifting height of 19 meters (63 feet) with three landings. Port of Haifa is the busiest port in Israel and the 86th busiest container cargo port in the world. Port of Haifa handled more than 1.25 million containers (TEUs) in 2008. Alimak crane lifts are installed in almost 100 countries around the world, with almost 2500 Alimak lifts installed in ports worldwide since 1971. |
